​Rene regularly speaks on justice and trauma-related issues. Her speaking engagements include large nonprofit events such as Break the Silence events in Washington, DC, fundraisers such as the Community for Affordable Housing, and many literary events and festivals. She is a dynamic and touching speaker. She has appeared on many podcasts.

Rene is licensed as an investigator in the state of Oregon. She is available for mitigation and fact cases, and does criminal, civil and federal work, from juvenile to capital. The past Chief Investigator at a public defense office, Rene has worked hundreds of cases. She maintains the strictest confidentiality in her investigative work. ​
